Math Level 1 Syllabus

Course Overview:  Mathematics Fundamentals Grade 1 is an engaging exploration of foundational mathematical concepts. This course focuses on developing number sense, understanding place value, and introducing students to the basics of addition and subtraction. Students are encouraged to approach numerical problems creatively, manipulate shapes, compare numbers, and explore methods of measuring physical objects. Through the use of puzzles and games, this course aims to build skills and establish a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.

Textbook: Beast Academy Mathematics Grade 1 (1A-1D)

Assessment: Assessment will be conducted through a combination of in-class participation, periodic quizzes, hands-on activities, and occasional homework assignments.  The emphasis will be on understanding and practical application rather than rote memorization.

Class Format: Classes will be interactive, incorporating a variety of teaching methods such as storytelling, games, and hands-on activities to keep young learners engaged. The use of puzzles and games will be central to the learning process, making mathematics an enjoyable experience for students.
